Every other watch in the room is round. Yours won't be.

Round is the default. A rectangle on the wrist is a decision, and the people who notice watches know it.

The Monarch is that decision, made once. A deep green dial worked with a radiating pattern, and nothing else on it. Gold hands. Down both sides of the case, a line of natural emeralds, baguette cut and set by hand. A 316L steel case with chamfered edges cut like architecture, plated in 18ct gold. A deep green strap in genuine alligator, stitched to match, and a single green cabochon crown, set like a stone.

There is one of these. It is built, checked and boxed at the bench in Adelaide. When it leaves, the next piece from that bench will be something else.

The first morning you wear it

At thirty one millimetres across and eleven slim, it slips under a cuff and disappears. Then you reach for a pen and the gold catches the light, and two lines of emeralds do what emeralds do. Someone across the table looks a second too long. A dress watch doesn't announce you. It confirms you.

Built at one bench in Adelaide

Dion built it. He is the watchmaker behind more than three hundred pieces, and every one of them has crossed his bench twice, once to build and once to check, before it ships. The stones were set by his hand. When someone asks who made your watch, you will have a name, and if you want to, you can talk to him.

A straight answer on the movement

The Monarch carries a VJ42 quartz movement, and we would rather tell you why than let you wonder. A mechanical movement in this case adds thickness and a service schedule. This one is accurate to seconds a month, never needs winding, and keeps the case slim enough to live under a shirt cuff, which is what a dress watch is for. If your heart is set on a mechanical movement, commission one and we will build the case around it. The trade is a thicker watch. That is the honest version.

Sapphire crystal so it doesn't scratch. 316L steel under the gold so it doesn't tarnish. Water resistant to 5 ATM.

What you are paying for

Not a logo. A watch made by the ten thousand is priced for the factory and the advertising. This one is priced for a person: the hours at the bench, stones set one at a time, a strap cut from genuine alligator, and the fact that nobody else will be wearing it. You are buying the piece and the maker, and there is exactly one of each.

If it isn't right

The Monarch is covered for one year on the movement, two years on the gold plating, and three years on the emeralds. If the Monarch isn't the watch you hoped for, you have thirty days from purchase for a full refund, as long as the protective stickering is still intact.
